Salahud-Din Ibn Shabazz, known to many as "Sal," tragically lost his life on April 7, 2021, in Newport News, Virginia. Born on January 28, 1982, Salahud-Din was a multifaceted individual who excelled in sports, poetry, and music. He was a standout athlete in high school and college, and he served in the U.S. Army from 2008 to 2012, completing a tour in Afghanistan. After his military service, he settled in Newport News with his family and worked as a forklift operator.
