Roy Markey Jackson, a 30-year-old resident of Newport News, Virginia, tragically lost his life on January 3, 2017. Jackson was fatally shot in the 800 block of Sundown Lane in Newport News. The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m., and he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after. Multiple shell casings were found in the area, indicating a violent confrontation. Jackson was described by friends and family as a kind-hearted individual who worked various jobs as a cook and security guard.
