On a Tuesday evening in April 2017, the community of Henrico, Virginia, was shaken by the violent death of Jamaa Khalik Scott. The 16-year-old male was found with a gunshot wound in the vicinity of Montrose Elementary School on April 11th. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries. At the time of the incident, the school was not in session, as it was closed for spring break.
