On a spring evening in Richmond, Virginia, the life of Malcolm T. Alexander, a 35-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. On April 19, 2018, gunfire erupted at an apartment complex in the 300 block of Melmark Court in the city's Southside. When police arrived at the scene just after 6:15 p.m., they found Mr. Alexander suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he succumbed to his injuries at the location.
