On May 5, 2014, at approximately 3:58 p.m., Richmond Police responded to a reported crime at Victoria Jewelers, located at 309 East Broad Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 29-year-old Muhammad Haroon Baig deceased from a gunshot wound to the head. The store appeared to have been robbed, with roughly half of the merchandise missing, display cases emptied, and the office in the back ransacked.
