Lyle P. McMurtray, a 23-year-old white male from Dutton, Virginia, was discovered deceased on May 31, 2014, in a parked SUV within the Gilpin Court neighborhood of Richmond. An investigation by the Richmond Police quickly determined that he had sustained a fatal gunshot wound, and his death was ruled a homicide.
