On February 20, 2023, at approximately 11:03 a.m., Richmond Police responded to reports of a shooting near the 2000 block of West Broad Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 24-year-old Richmond resident Balewa Osei Hendy Jr. unresponsive in an alley with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
