On a warm summer evening in Richmond, Virginia, the life of Timothy B. McMorris, a 50-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short. On August 24, 2020, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the night in the 2300 block of Bethel Street in the city's Whitcomb Court neighborhood. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a chaotic and violent tableau. McMorris had been shot and was found outside of a residence; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
