On a cold December evening in 2024, the life of 33-year-old Michael LaShawn Wright, a Black male from Richmond, Virginia, was tragically cut short. Just days before Christmas, on the night of December 22nd, police responded to a call for a medical emergency in the 11200 block of Patterson Avenue, near the Tuckahoe Village Shopping Center in Henrico County.
