On a tragic afternoon in Richmond, Virginia, the life of Corey Antwan Holmes, a 36-year-old Black man, was abruptly cut short. On March 1, 2021, police responded to a call about a shooting at a residence in the 2200 block of N. 26th Street. Inside the home, they discovered Holmes suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving a community to mourn and a family to seek answers.
