Shemar L. Howlett, a 21-year-old Black/African American male, tragically lost his life on the night of March 6, 2022, in Richmond, Virginia. The evening was shattered by the sound of gunfire, and when Richmond Police officers responded to the reports of shots fired in the 1100 block of North 20th Street at approximately 10:12 p.m., they discovered a devastating scene. Shemar was found at the location with a fatal gunshot wound.
