Harvey Barton, a 5-year-old boy, tragically lost his life on October 19, 1979, during a violent robbery at his home in Richmond, Virginia. Harvey, who was White, was one of three victims in this horrific crime. His mother, Judy Diane Barton, aged 23 and eight months pregnant, and her common-law husband, Harvey Wilkerson, aged 26, were also killed. The perpetrators of this heinous act were members of the Briley gang, a group responsible for a series of violent crimes in the area.
