Haywood D. McCallum Jr., a retired teacher from Armstrong High School in Richmond, Virginia, was tragically shot on the night of October 11, 2008. The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. at the corner of North 25th and Cedar streets. McCallum was found next to his vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds, and was immediately taken to VCU Medical Center. Despite the critical nature of his injuries, he was reported to be in stable condition at the hospital.
