In the early morning hours of New Year's Day 2016, the life of 28-year-old Joseph Allen McDowell was tragically cut short in what would become Lexington, Kentucky's first homicide of the year. A male, he was discovered around 5:15 a.m. in a driveway on Roosevelt Boulevard, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency services transported him to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries very early the next morning.
