In the city of Lexington, Kentucky, a tragic story unfolded in the winter of 2021. On the evening of January 30th, police were called to the Eastridge Apartments on Alumni Drive. Inside one of the residences, they discovered the body of 26-year-old Bryan D. Greene. He had been shot, and the Fayette County Coroner's Office pronounced him dead at the scene at 8:17 p.m.
The authorities immediately began treating the case as a homicide investigation.
The investigation into the death of the young man, a male, progressed over the following weeks. In late March, the Lexington Police Department publicly identified 19-year-old Juanyah J. Clay as the primary suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest on a charge of murder. The search for Clay was brief, as he was taken into custody the day after being named a suspect.
At the time of his arrest, Juanyah Jamar Clay was found to be in possession of three concealed handguns. In addition to the murder charge, he faced a litany of other accusations, including carrying a concealed weapon, receiving a stolen firearm, and drug trafficking charges related to marijuana and opiates. He was booked at the Lexington-Fayette County Detention Center.
