In the early evening of September 21, 2017, in Newport News, Virginia, 18-year-old Marvin Gordon was fatally shot. Another male, a 16-year-old, was also wounded in the shooting which occurred in the area of Deputy Lane. Gordon was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the other victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
