In the early hours of March 14, 2018, a burst of violence outside a Richmond, Virginia strip club tragically ended the life of 33-year-old Timothy Vest. The Black male was in the parking lot of the establishment on Hull Street Road when gunfire erupted at approximately 1:09 a.m. Richmond Police officers responded to a call about the shooting and arrived to find a chaotic scene with two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency services transported Vest to a local hospital, but his
injuries proved to be fatal, and he succumbed to them shortly after arrival. The initial investigation into the shooting began to piece together the events of that night, as detectives worked to identify who was responsible for the deadly encounter.
Three days after the fatal shooting, a significant development occurred in the case when Darrell K. Daniel, a 30-year-old man from Mineral, Virginia, voluntarily turned himself over to the authorities. Following his surrender, Daniel was arrested and faced a series of serious charges in connection with Timothy Vest's death. The charges brought against him included murder, aggravated malicious shooting, malicious wounding, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. While an arrest was made, law enforcement did not publicly disclose a potential motive for the shooting as the investigation continued.
