Police had been called to the area for a reported shooting at approximately 4:25 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr.
Goode, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Terran Goode, born on December 19, 1992, was a native of Petersburg, Virginia, and a 2011 graduate of George Wythe High School. He was an employee at Maximus in Chester, Virginia. Those who knew him remembered a kind and loving individual who was deeply cherished by his family and friends. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend, with a passion for sports and an unwavering loyalty to the Los Angeles Rams.
The investigation into the death of Terran Goode quickly led to a suspect. Chesterfield County Police detectives obtained a warrant for 28-year-old Joshua Carter, charging him with second-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting. On the evening of Sunday, September 22, Joshua Carter was apprehended in Richmond with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force. Carter is currently being held at the Chesterfield County Jail without bond.
