On an April evening in 2014, the life of 33-year-old Ivan Tyree Bridges was tragically cut short in Richmond, Virginia. The Black/African American male was discovered inside a vehicle in the 2100 block of Mimosa Street on April 23rd, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Alongside him was another victim, Ebony Naomi Hurd, who was also shot and later died from her injuries at a local hospital. Mr.
Bridges was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind a wife and three children.
The investigation into the double homicide has been a long and arduous one, with law enforcement actively seeking those responsible. Authorities have released a description of two individuals seen in the vicinity prior to the shooting. These persons of interest are described as two Black males, believed to be between the ages of 20 and 25. Their height is estimated to be between 5'3' and 5'8'. Despite this information, the case has grown cold over the years.
To date, no arrests have been made in connection with the murders of Ivan Tyree Bridges and Ebony Naomi Hurd. The case officially remains an unsolved homicide. In an effort to bring closure to the families and see justice served, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has offered a significant reward of up to $10,000. This reward is for any information that leads to the arrest and subsequent conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for this violent act. The community and the families of the victims continue to await a break in the case.
