A young man of promise is cut down by a shot in the dark
On the night of August 17, 2013, 18-year-old Garrick L. Ellis was shot while walking with friends near 4th Avenue and Brookland Park Boulevard in Richmond, Virginia. Around 10:15 p.m., Ellis and his friends were near the 3000 block of 4th Avenue when shots were fired. Ellis ran towards the 1400 block of East Brookland Park Boulevard, where he collapsed from his injuries.
