On the morning of April 9, 2026, a tragic event unfolded in a Richmond, Virginia neighborhood that resulted in the death of Roger Swinson, a 42-year-old man. The Richmond Police Department was called to the 1000 block of St. James Street around 10:27 a.m. following a report of a shooting. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Swinson suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
