In the late summer of 2018, a heartbreaking discovery was made on a street in South Richmond, Virginia. Twenty-one-year-old Sherece Cook, a Black female from Louisa County, was found inside her SUV on Peyton Avenue on August 10th. She had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. In a poignant and fortunate turn of events, two children, both under the age of three, were found unharmed in the back seat of the vehicle.
