In the winter of 2019, the life of 55-year-old Mithaing Lwat was cut short by an act of gun violence in Roanoke, Virginia. On the evening of Friday, February 22nd, the tranquility of a Roanoke neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered Mr. Lwat had been fatally wounded. He was a male resident of the city, and his sudden and violent death sent ripples of concern through the community.
