On February 22, 2019, Mithiang Lwat, a 55-year-old resident of Roanoke, Virginia, was tragically killed in a shooting incident. The Roanoke Police Department responded to the scene and identified Lwat as the deceased victim. Another individual, Bol Ashwil, aged 24, was also shot during the incident but survived with non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
