In the late summer of 2019, the life of a 38-year-old Black man, Kevin Williams, was tragically cut short in Roanoke, Virginia. The events unfolded in the early morning hours of August 11, around 12:45 a.m., in the 300 block of 9th Street SW. Responding to a report of a shooting, Roanoke Police officers discovered Williams with a gunshot wound.
