Michelle Yvette Gutierrez, a 23-year-old Hispanic woman originally from Corpus Christi, Texas, was found brutally murdered on October 30, 1986, in an industrial area of Rubidoux, near Riverside County, California. Her body was discovered by a man collecting aluminum cans, lying in a drainage ditch with her clothing torn and signs of extreme violence.
