Donald Thorington, a 23-year-old Machinist’s Mate (Nuclear) 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy, was tragically shot to death on May 5, 2019, in Portsmouth, Virginia. The incident occurred outside his residence on Atlanta Avenue during an altercation with another sailor, Aviation Ordnanceman Airman Dalen Spence. Thorington was shot in the chest and stomach, leading to his untimely death.
