In the summer of 2019, the city of Norfolk, Virginia, was rocked by a senseless act of violence that claimed the life of a beloved community member. On the evening of July 1st, 54-year-old Rodney Epps was fatally shot outside the Happy Shopper convenience store on Campostella Road. Emergency dispatchers received a call about a person with a gunshot wound at 9:48 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Epps, who had been shot and died from his injuries.
