In the late summer of 2014, the life of a young man serving his country was cut short in Norfolk, Virginia. 2nd Lt. Alex Carrington Hobbs, a 25-year-old Black male, passed away on August 28, 2014. A former resident of Indianapolis, Hobbs was a dedicated member of the U.S. Army National Guard and an active member of the Pershing Rifles Fraternity. At the time of his death, he was employed by Epsilon Systems.
