In the early morning hours of May 13, 2022, the life of 55-year-old Rodney Angelo Cross, a Black male, was tragically cut short in the Ocean View area of Norfolk, Virginia. A beloved father and grandfather, Cross was likely heading to his job at United Disposal, where he had been a dedicated employee for five years, when he was shot and killed just outside his home on Modoc Avenue.
