In the early morning hours of a Sunday in Norfolk, Virginia, the life of Derrick T. Horton, a 29-year-old man, was tragically cut short. On July 26, 2020, dispatchers received a call about a gunshot victim around 6 a.m. in the 2800 block of Earlscourt Avenue. When police arrived at the scene, they found Horton inside his car, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
