In the early evening of June 20, 2024, the sound of gunfire disrupted the calm in a Norfolk, Virginia neighborhood, setting in motion a chain of events that would ultimately claim the life of 29-year-old Maurice Stowe. Around 4:45 p.m., Norfolk Police officers in the vicinity of the 900 block of Bagnall Road heard the shots and quickly discovered a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was later released.
