On December 20, 2023, James "Pops" Carter, an 84-year-old beloved convenience store owner in Norfolk, Virginia, was tragically killed in a shooting incident outside his business, Triple C Convenience store, also known as Carter Convenience and Candy, located at 826 Lindenwood Avenue.
