On December 20, 2023, James "Pops" Carter, an 84-year-old beloved convenience store owner in Norfolk, Virginia, was tragically killed in a shooting incident outside his business, Triple C Convenience store, also known as Carter Convenience and Candy, located at 826 Lindenwood Avenue. Carter, who had run the shop since his children were young, was working that night when the incident occurred.
