In the early hours of a January morning in Norfolk, Virginia, a person walking along Craig Street made a grim discovery. On the sidewalk lay the body of Thomas Deon Valentine, a 42-year-old man who lived nearby. Police were called to the scene around 3:00 a.m. on January 17, 2012, where they found that Valentine had been shot. A resident in the area reported hearing gunfire at about the same time the police were summoned.
