In the Calvert Square neighborhood of Norfolk, Virginia, a series of gunshots broke the evening calm on October 30, 2025. When police responded to the 800 block of E. Olney Road at approximately 5:22 p.m., they discovered a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The man, identified as 56-year-old John L. Howard Sr., a male resident of Norfolk, was urgently transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. ...
