On the evening of February 26, 2025, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace on the campus of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, leaving two young men dead. One of the victims was Timothy G. Williams II, a 20-year-old Black/African American male from Norfolk. The shooting, which also claimed the life of 18-year-old Delanio Vick, unfolded around 9:40 p.m.
in a parking lot near the Broderick Dining Commons.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene where they discovered Williams and Vick with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both men were rushed to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, but their injuries proved to be fatal, and they were pronounced deceased. In the immediate aftermath, the university issued a shelter-in-place order to protect students and staff, which was lifted later that evening. It was later clarified that neither Williams nor Vick were students at the university.
The Norfolk Police Department, in conjunction with the Old Dominion University Police, launched a double homicide investigation into the shooting. As of the latest available reports, the investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities have not yet publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the deaths of Timothy G. Williams II and Delanio Vick.
