Jameal Akeem Earnest, a 20-year-old Black male, was a resident of Norfolk, Virginia. On the evening of March 17, 2012, a day marked by St. Patrick's Day celebrations, tragedy struck. Earnest was fatally wounded in a shooting incident in Norfolk. The promising life of the young man, known affectionately as 'Omelly' to his friends and family, was cut short by an act of gun violence.
