In the early morning hours of New Year's Day 2020, the life of 33-year-old Tracy Nixon was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire that echoed through a Hampton, Virginia neighborhood, marking the city's first homicide of the year. A Black male, Nixon was found fatally wounded in the front yard of a residence located in the 700 block of Ridgeway Avenue shortly before 3 a.m. on January 1st. When police arrived at the scene, he had already succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
