Dornell Waushi Chavous, aged 48, tragically lost his life on June 11, 2020, in Portsmouth, Virginia. The incident occurred early in the morning, around 6:47 a.m., when Portsmouth Police responded to a call in the 1100 block of Mount Vernon Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Chavous suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. Despite the efforts of emergency medical services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
