In the early morning hours of September 25, 2022, a sense of unease settled over Carver Circle in Portsmouth, Virginia. It was here that 41-year-old Lamont D. Brown, a male resident of the community, found his life cut tragically short in a hail of gunfire. Responding to a call around 4 a.m., police discovered a grim scene: Brown and another individual had been shot. While the second victim was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, Brown succumbed to his wounds at the scene.
