In the summer of 2021, tragedy struck the city of Norfolk, Virginia, with the untimely death of Derrick Roundtree, a 46-year-old man. On the evening of Thursday, June 24th, gunshots shattered the peace in the 700 block of East Virginia Beach Boulevard. Roundtree was shot and subsequently died from his injuries, becoming the third homicide victim in the city within a harrowing 24-hour period. The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. outside a local Shop 'N Go convenience store.
