In the winter of 2022, the life of 38-year-old Brian O’Neal Fonville was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire in Newport News, Virginia. On the evening of January 26th, officers responded to reports of a shooting and discovered Fonville suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, he succumbed to his injuries, leaving a community to grapple with the sudden and violent loss.
