In the quiet, pre-dawn hours of a Sunday morning in Newport News, Virginia, a life was abruptly ended. On August 17, 2014, police responded to a call of gunfire at the Apex at Ashton Green Apartments. There, they discovered the body of 31-year-old David Duke Sims, a male resident of Chesapeake, inside his vehicle. He had been shot and was found slumped over the steering wheel.
