On the evening of December 22, 2022, in Newport News, Virginia, a young man’s life was cut short in a burst of gunfire. Aah’Keem Robinson, a 22-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in the 300 block of Boulder Drive. The Newport News Police Department received a call about the shooting at approximately 8:42 p.m. and, upon arrival, found Robinson suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
