On a late Sunday evening in June 2014, the life of 19-year-old Rachard Timothy Lewis was tragically cut short in Newport News, Virginia. Police and paramedics responded to a report of a shooting in the 1100 block of 22nd Street at approximately 11:00 p.m. on June 22nd. Upon arrival, they discovered Lewis lying on the ground with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his head. He was immediately transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
