In the early morning hours of August 7, 2021, a young life was abruptly cut short in Newport News, Virginia. Rahymachel Martinez Baro, a 19-year-old male, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside an apartment building in the 500 block of Purlieu Drive. The call came in to police at approximately 1:47 a.m., and upon their arrival, they discovered the tragic scene.
