In the early morning hours of September 7, 2017, the life of 48-year-old Robert Thomas Minter Jr. was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire on Jefferson Avenue in Newport News, Virginia. Minter, a male resident of Tillerson Drive, was discovered by authorities in the 1700 block of the street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds that would prove to be fatal. He was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind a community to grapple with the sudden and violent loss.
