In the winter of 2021, the life of 18-year-old Gabriel Elisha Wright was tragically cut short in a shooting in Newport News, Virginia. On the afternoon of Monday, December 13th, police responded to a call in the 800 block of Brighton Lane. There they discovered Wright suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene just eight minutes after officers arrived.
