In the city of Norfolk, Virginia, a young life was abruptly cut short in the spring of 2022. Faizon J. Moore, a 21-year-old Black male, became the victim of a fatal shooting on the afternoon of March 15th. The incident that claimed his life unfolded in the 800 block of Fremont Street, located in the Olde Huntersville neighborhood.
Around 3:25 p.m. that Tuesday, the sound of gunfire shattered the daily rhythm of the community.
Though police were called to the scene for a report of a gunshot victim, they discovered upon arrival that Moore had already been transported from the location by a private vehicle. He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with injuries that were described as life-threatening. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, Faizon J. Moore succumbed to his wounds at the hospital.
In the wake of the shooting, the Norfolk Police Department launched an investigation into the homicide. Detectives began to piece together the events that led to the deadly encounter. However, the circumstances surrounding the shooting and a potential motive have not been released to the public. To date, no arrests have been announced in connection with the death of Faizon J.
