In the early morning hours of March 17, 2022, the life of 35-year-old Derrell 'Shank' Turnage was tragically cut short in Richmond, Virginia. A Black/African American male, Turnage was discovered inside his parked car on West Brookland Park Boulevard after police responded to reports of random gunfire in the area around 2:32 a.m. He had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.
