Derrell "Shank" Turnage, a 35-year-old man from Richmond, Virginia, was found dead in his car on March 17, 2022. Richmond police responded to a report of random gunfire on West Brookland Park Boulevard around 2:32 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Turnage inside a parked car with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Turnage was described by his family as a good man with strong ties to the Richmond community, and they have expressed a desire for justice.
