On a Tuesday afternoon in August 2021, the life of 28-year-old Dajuan M. 'Jeez' Bolden was tragically cut short in a shooting on the south side of Richmond, Virginia. Emergency services were dispatched to the 2200 block of Halifax Avenue around 3:21 p.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, police officers discovered Bolden suffering from a significant gunshot wound.
Paramedics quickly transported Bolden to a nearby hospital with injuries that were described as
life-threatening. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he ultimately succumbed to his wounds at the hospital. A second man was also injured in the same incident, having sustained a gunshot wound that was not considered to be life-threatening. This individual was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle.
The Richmond Police Department identified Dajuan Bolden, a resident of the city, as the deceased victim. In the aftermath of the shooting, detectives from the Major Crimes unit have been actively investigating the case. However, authorities have not released any descriptions of potential suspects, and no arrests have been made in connection with Bolden's death. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to seek information from the public to help bring closure to the case.
